HIV in Nigeria Is A Stigma Like No Other

HIV in Nigeria to a lot of people is not just a death sentence but something worse than Devil Worship. Devil worship in the sense that a lot of Nigerians would quickly start ignoring an HIV patient faster than someone in the occult.

The day a Nigerian HIV status is known to be negative that is the day that person would come to realize that isolation is worse than the disease itself. And Nigeria is one of such places where being HIV negative can make you the topic of gossip groups here and there.

It would be nice to finally see our people wake up to the reality that HIV in Nigeria is an epidemic that has come to stay. One that anyone can fall victim to and as such deserve not just sympathy but acceptance.

A Lot of HIV victims in Nigeria would be able to live normal and combat the disease if only the society they live in can be sensible enough to show love and support.

Maybe one day HIV would get the cure it deserves. But until then, it is wise that as a people we help our brothers and sisters with the disease, to live the remainder of their life well by not discriminating against them.

HIV in NIgeria

Discrimination Kills!

I have people with HIV in my family and the truth is, it would really hurt to see any of them face the social rebuke of people around just because they are sick.

Falling sick is not a crime and it is time for us as Nigerians to come together and help those with the disease reintegrate into society by leaving out the fact that they are sick when ever they come to socialize.

That social life discrimination often takes away from them is one of the most important factors militating against their will to survive the disease itself.

So Please Stop The Discrimination.

We can only build a naturally healthy world by treating every human being with love and respect, no matter their health status.
